We had two matches on Heron Lake this weekend and it fished well with 2, 90lb+ weights on both days, here are the results from both matches.

Today’s match was fished on Heron Lake in bright, warm sunshine and a gentle breeze, which is what it should be like for summer! Fishing started off slow and the carp didn’t really switch on until the afternoon but we had a good close match, here are the results:

Is it really June? Fishing in the rain again!!!

Today’s match was fished on Fir Tree pond. I put in a couple of the shallow pegs today(14 & 15) which in hind sight wasn’t the best choice of pegs as most fish were caught in deeper water, but for those on a deep peg it fished well. Here are the results:

Today’s match on Heron Lake was a tale of two halves, one half of the lake fished really well, unfortunately the other half didn’t! This was due to the wind blowing down towards peg 19. We had a good turnout and with 8 of us fishing the £100 bonus was up for grabs! I sat watching Adrian Holland bagging up on peg 19 and felt sure it was going today, here are the results :

We had a good turnout for today’s open which was fished on Heron Lake and with 8 of us fishing the £100 bonus was up for grabs! Alex Bradley drew first and pulled peg 5 from the bag and after Adrian Holland’s result from that peg last week I was worried I was going to be down £100 by the end of the day! But fishing was a bit harder than usual, which I think is due to the unsettled weather that we have over us at the moment. Having said that some good weights were had but fishing was patchy. Here are the results:

Had a great open today fishing in beautiful, warm sunshine. The Carp we’re spawning in Heron Lake so we fished on Fir Tree Pond. Alex Bradley (Pictured) drew peg 11, he had a good moan, but I knew he would do well and although the stamp of fish he caught was small, he set a new record for the lake (That’s both lakes he now holds the record for!) Sunday’s match was fished on Heron Lake and although Alex had a good weight it fished a bit iffy, I think that the carp may have something else on their minds other than feeding!! Here are the results:

2. Aide Holland Peg 19 29lb 8oz

Alex tried a few different lines and tactics but found that corn and pellet down the edge was the most productive on the day. Well done Alex.
