We had a mid week knock up on Heron Lake. It fished hard as the carp weren’t showing, but it doesn’t get much closer than this, here is the result:

Today’s winter league match was fished in blustery conditions, it fished well for thoughs on Heron lake and it was close on Fir Tree pond but the going was tough. Ricky Dennis thought his draw arm had let him down today after pulling peg 4 from the bag, but he managed to find his way there and had a good day! Here are the results:

We had a close result in today’s open, fished on Heron Lake. Roger Baker was very pleased with drawing end peg 2 and asked me for a £1 side bet which I was happy to accept after drawing end peg 11! Here’s the results:

Today we had a mid week match on Heron Lake. The weather was beautiful, like a spring day and the result was a close one. I drew peg 9 and was well happy, Roger Baker drew 15 and subsequently spat out his dummy! I started dobbing bread at 12 metres down the right hand margin which is usually a banker, but after 30 mins and1 foul hooked fish realised they weren’t their! I caught a few at four sections on 6mm pellet and on the pellet feeder to the far side but could see Roger catching well and knew he was in front. With 20 mins to go fish turned up down the edge and I had a 6lb fish at the whistle! Here’s the results:

Bit of a cold one for this Sunday’s open. With a strong northerly wind blowing down to peg 10 we pegged the match for comfort and used the pegs at the other end of the lake. It proved to be a hard day as I think the carp followed the wind to the other end of the lake leaving everyone fishing for silvers. Chris Symons grab first helped by a bonus carp of 7lb 8oz, here are the results:

Sunday just gone was our 6th winter league match. Ricky Dennis’s draw arm was working it’s usual magic and he pulled peg 9 on Fir tree from the bag and caught a shed full! With the wind and rain blowing from the south at the start of the match I changed a few pegs from the last winter league match to give some shelter, but this didn’t matter as through the day the wind swung round to the north! I had an over weigh and was only 8oz from disqualification! Here are the results:

Today’s open was fished on Heron Lake. Considering the cold weather and that there was a match on there yesterday it fished quite well and we had a close even match. Here are the results:

This Sunday just gone was round 5 of our winter league. I missed this one as I was at Goodison park with my son watching the mighty Everton thrash Manchester City 4-0!! Anyway, it turned out to be a good one to miss as the fishing was hard, especially on Fir tree, hear are the results:

Due to the bank holidays we had an open match on Monday 2nd Jan. We had a good turn out in the fine winter sunshine but it did fish hard after the heavy frost.

Wednesday 28th December was our festive Christmas match! We had a good turn out and we served everyone a complimentary bacon roll with a tea or coffee before the start.
With both lakes full it was a shame it fished so hard, oh well that’s winter fishing!
We paid top three on each lake and everyone went home with a prize from a bottle of Jack Daniels, a voucher for West Cornwall Angling, a case of beer, bottles of wine, chocolates, biscuits, to a tub of Haribos! Here’s the results:
