One of our original Ghosties has been caught in Willow pond. It weighed in at 11lb 3oz. It feel to sweetcorn fished on a feeder, but don’t fish Willow pond for it! It’s back where it belongs, in Heron Lake.

Heron Lake will be closed on Sunday 10th March for a private match. Fir Tree and Willow ponds are open as usual for day tickets. We will be holding open matches from Saturday 6th April every other Saturday. See our match page for full details

Marizion angling club held there second of three winter league matches on Heron Lake. 9 fisherman took part and it proved to be hard going, which isn’t surprising after the months of rain we have had. 1st was John Wilson with 5lb 3oz and won £35, 2nd was Gary Smith with 4lb 3oz and won £25, 3rd was Geoff Chatfield with 3lb 11oz and won £15 and forth was John Shirley with 3lb 10oz and won £6.

Well done to all who took part and braved the elements. Hope the warm mince pies helped!!

Look forward to seeing you all again in March, when the weather will be warmer and catches will be much better.

Marazion Angling Club held there first of three matches at Amalwhidden Farm today on Heron Lake. There was 12 fisherman and everyone caught (just!!) 1st was Mike O’Gorman (pictured) with 27lb 12oz and won £40, close 2nd was Jeff Chatfield with 26lb 10oz and won £30, 3rd was Boz Philips with 17lb 2oz and won £15 and 4th was Gary Smith with 16lb 8oz and won £14. Well done to all and thanks for using our fishery as one of your winter venues. We look forward to seeing you all in December.

Can’t believe my luck, I fished in my second match on Sunday and won. I had 30lb of mirror and common carp up to 2 1/2lb and won £15. Second was John with 27lb and he won £10. Even though it’s turned colder Heron Lake & Fir Tree are still fishing really well.

Got my first pole at the weekend and for a bit of fun joined in a small match on Sunday with four anglers on Heron Lake, and won!! I caught 20lb of mostly carp from 1/2lb to 3lb and one mirror that was 10lb and won £15, (Beginners luck!!!) second was John who caught 16lb and won £5.

Marazion angling club are starting a winter league and are using Amalwhidden Farm as one of the venues. There will be 3 matches on Heron lake, 11th November, 30th December and 10th March. I have just finished re-building peg number 18 on Heron Lake. Pegs 7, 14 and 17 need a bit of T.L.C and will get these done in the next few days.

Sirco Occasional Danglers Society held a private match today on Heron Lake. Ten fished and there were some good weights all round. Joint winners were Rob and Kev with 29lb each and won a share of the spoils. 3rd was Roger with 21lb 8oz and 4th was Ian with 17lb 8oz.
