Today we had a mid-week match and believe it or not I won!!!! I don’t have the photographic evidence to prove it but here are the results:

2. Roger Baker Peg 10 46lb 12oz

Today’s open match had 8 fishing, the weather was fine and warm and it fished well, here are the results:

1. Jon Wykes Peg 5 50lb (Pictured below)
2. Andy Partridge Peg 15 40lb
3. Pete Holliday Peg 19 33lb 12oz

We had an unplanned mid week match on Wedneday 8th April, the fine weather over the last few days has seen the carp start to come on the feed. Barry Gillam won (pictured) with 53lb 8oz from peg 2. He fished pellet feeder with dead reds to the bank opposite and caught a good net of carp with a few tench and skimmers. Second was Josh Anderson from peg 5 with 42lb 10oz.

Today’s match was won by Josh Anderson. He fish long pole to the island shelf on peg 15 and caught 42lb of carp, tench and skimmers. 2nd was Mike Bennetts with 27lb 4oz from peg 5.

Sunday 29th March was our last winter league match here are the results:

Yesterday was the penultimate winter league match, the weather was so much better than last week, bit windy but mostly dry. We had a run away winner on the new flyer!!

I have made a new peg at the far right end of Heron Lake. This will now be peg 10 and bet it will be a flyer, hoping to draw this one in a match soon!! Need all the luck I can get!

Sunday 22nd was league match day. The weather was horrendous but everyone caught even though a few of us had had enough and packed up early! Here are the results:

SODS (Sirco Occasional Danglers Society) have booked a private match on Heron Lake on 15th February. Heron lake will be closed that day but pleasure anglers can still fish either Fir Tree or Willow Pond. If you would like to book a club match at our fishery don’t hesitate to contact me.
