This morning I got up at 6.30am and went fishing. It was a beautiful spring morning. There were swallow’s dipping into the lake to drink on the wing, the dawn chorus of bird song was amazing and I heard my first Cuckoo of the year. I fished a waggler on 3lb main line straight through to a size 18 hook with a single grain of corn fished over loose fed fishery pellets. I plumed up and fished slightly over depth which accounted for 9 Mirror and Common carp, 2 tench and a skimmer all within an hour. Then I got called in for breakfast by my 4 year old son! Just finished breakfast and going back to the bank-side. Hope to see you here soon!

Fir Tree Pond, Whats New? »

[5 Feb 2012 | Comments Off on New Pegs | ]

I have completed work on peg numbers 11, 12, 13, and 14 on Fir Tree pond. I had already dug them out but never had time to complete them last year before we opened. They now have steps down to them and I have also made them larger. I have put in a timber retainer and filled them with wood chippings.
